La obra parte de la capacidad de la pintura para transformar lo que en un principio es un simple material en algo bello mediante el lenguaje universal del arte. Es precisamente en esta transformación donde surge el concepto de La alquimia de la pintura: un proceso en el que los pigmentos dejan de ser únicamente materia para convertirse en una expresión artística cargada de significado.
