DESDE EL ALMA (OLEO) está inspirada en una experiencia al entrar a un club de jazz en Buenos Aires, me llamó profundamente la atención uno de los miembros del trío protagonista de la noche. Estaba completamente entregado a lo que tocaba; nada lo distraía. Era como si solo existieran su alma y su instrumento, compartiendo instantes de creación minuto a minuto. El músico parecía en meditación profunda al acariciar las cuerdas de su contrabajo. Su respiración se unió a la del público, especialmente a la mía, conectándose también con mi cuaderno de dibujo y mi pluma. En ese ambiente percibí líneas, armonía, formas, ritmo, silencios, notas… todo lo que finalmente traté de plasmar en mi obra. Esa es la maravilla del arte: se logran momentos de inspiración y conexión continua cuando todo se hace desde el alma.
FROM THE SOUL (OIL) This painting is inspired by an experience in a jazz club in Buenos Aires. I was deeply moved by one of the trio’s musicians — completely immersed in his music, untouched by anything beyond the notes he played. It was as if only his soul and his instrument existed, sharing fleeting moments of pure creation.
He seemed to enter a meditative state as his fingers caressed the strings of the double bass. His breathing merged with that of the audience — especially mine — and soon, with the rhythm of my sketchbook and pen. In that atmosphere, I could see the lines, harmony, shapes, rhythm, silences, and notes — everything that I later sought to capture on canvas.
That is the true wonder of art: those rare, luminous moments of inspiration and connection that can only arise when everything is created from the soul.
