Inspirada en la antigua tradición maya, MIENTRAS TE PIENSO (OLEO) representa al colibrí como mensajero divino y símbolo de amor, paz y conexión espiritual. De acuerdo con esta creencia, su presencia puede interpretarse como un mensaje de un ser querido que ha partido, recordándonos que permanece cerca, en paz y velando por nosotros.
 
En la obra, el colibrí, posado sobre un tronco junto a sus huevecillos, representa el vínculo entre lo espiritual y lo terrenal, así como el eterno ciclo de la vida, la continuidad y la renovación. A través del óleo, Verónica Cruz Chapman dota a la escena de profundidad y calidez, creando una atmósfera íntima y evocadora que conecta la naturaleza con la memoria y los afectos.

Inspired by the ancient Maya tradition, WHILE I THINK OF YOU (OIL) portrays the hummingbird as a divine messenger and a symbol of love, peace, and spiritual connection. According to this belief, its presence may be interpreted as a message from a loved one who has passed away, reminding us that they remain close, at peace, and watching over us.
 
In the work, the hummingbird, perched on a branch beside its eggs, represents the connection between the spiritual and the earthly, as well as the eternal cycle of life, continuity, and renewal. Through oil painting, Verónica Cruz Chapman gives the scene depth and warmth, creating an intimate and evocative atmosphere that connects nature with memory and affection.
 
WHILE I THINK OF YOU is, in essence, a work about a love that transcends absence and remains alive in memory.
