METAMORFOSIS DEL SUR (OLEO) Inspirada en un encuentro con una artesana chiapaneca que tejía con maestría figuras en chaquira, esta obra fusiona la mirada de una niña con la esencia multicolor de una iguana ritual. Los colores ancestrales (amarillo, rojo, azul y verde) se transforman en un rostro simbólico que honra la memoria artesanal del sur de México. Las raíces que emergen del cuerpo, junto con las flores que lo rodean, revelan el vínculo profundo entre la tierra, la infancia y la tradición indígena. La pieza celebra la metamorfosis cultural que ocurre cuando la identidad, la artesanía y la vida se entretejen.
METAMORPHOSIS OF THE SOUTH (OIL) Inspired by an encounter with a Chiapanecan artisan who masterfully wove figures using beadwork, this piece merges the gaze of a child with the multicolored essence of a ritual iguana. Ancestral colors (yellow, red, blue, and green) transform into a symbolic face that honors the artisanal memory of southern Mexico. The roots emerging from the body, along with the surrounding flowers, reveal the profound bond between land, childhood, and Indigenous tradition. The work celebrates cultural metamorphosis as identity, craftsmanship, and life intertwine.
